Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using AudioSRT ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.

We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.

2. Description of Service

AudioSRT is a free, browser-based audio transcription and subtitle generation tool. The Service uses Whisper AI (via Transformers.js) to transcribe audio files and generate SRT subtitle files. All processing occurs locally on your device — no audio is transmitted to our servers.

The Service is provided free of charge and is supported by display advertising. We do not guarantee continuous, uninterrupted availability of the Service.

3. Acceptable Use Policy

You agree to use the Service only for lawful purposes. You must not use AudioSRT to:

  • Transcribe audio that you do not have the legal right to use
  • Violate any copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights
  • Record or transcribe conversations without the knowledge and consent of all parties, where required by law
  • Process audio containing content that is illegal in your jurisdiction
  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or extract the AI model weights beyond what is permitted by their respective licenses
  • Use automated tools to abuse, overload, or interfere with the Service
  • Attempt to circumvent any security or access control measures
  • Use the Service for any purpose that could cause harm to others

4. User Content and Intellectual Property

You retain all intellectual property rights to the audio content you process through AudioSRT and the transcripts you generate from it. Since your audio is processed entirely on your device and never transmitted to us, we make no claim to any rights in your content.

You represent and warrant that you have all necessary rights, licenses, and permissions to the audio content you process through the Service.

The AudioSRT website design, code, and content (excluding user content and the Whisper model, which is licensed by OpenAI under the MIT License) are owned by AudioSRT and protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

5. Third-Party Technology

AudioSRT uses the following open-source and third-party technologies:

  • Whisper by OpenAI: Licensed under the MIT License
  • Transformers.js by Hugging Face: Licensed under the Apache 2.0 License
  • Astro: Licensed under the MIT License
  • Tailwind CSS: Licensed under the MIT License
  • Google AdSense: Subject to Google's terms of service
  • Google Fonts (Inter): Licensed under the SIL Open Font License

Your use of the Service is also subject to the terms of these third-party providers where applicable.

6. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.

We do not warrant that:

  • The transcription will be 100% accurate
  • The Service will be uninterrupted or error-free
  • Defects will be corrected
  • The Service is free of viruses or other harmful components

Transcription accuracy varies based on audio quality, accent, background noise, technical vocabulary, and other factors. Always review and verify transcripts before relying on them for professional, legal, medical, or other important purposes.

7. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, AUDIOSRT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, RESULTING FROM YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from your use of the Service shall not exceed the amount you have paid us in the past 12 months (which, for a free service, is zero).

8. Privacy

Your use of the Service is governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms of Service by reference.

9. Advertising

AudioSRT displays advertisements via Google AdSense. Advertisements are displayed around the tool area and are clearly distinguishable from the tool functionality. We do not endorse any products or services advertised on the Service.

Ad blocking software may affect the display of advertisements. As a free service, we ask that you consider disabling ad blockers on AudioSRT to support continued free access.

10. Governing Law

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action.
